True

A tiny winter poem read aloud
I feel this poem only really works if you know exactly the intonation and rhythm I intended when I wrote it. Therefore I am being brave and trying out my first audio post so you can hear it as I do.

What is true now,
may not be true tomorrow.
What seemed true before, has already revealed it’s false face.
What is true now,
may not be true tomorrow.
Yesterday’s promises have already fallen to the wayside.
What is true now,
may not be true tomorrow.
Future plans, however certain will inevitably wane and change.
What is true now,
may not be true tomorrow.
My truth, your truth – two sides of a coin, together but not the same.
What is true now,
may not be true tomorrow.
Perhaps truth itself is a lie – a comforting bedtime tale we tell ourselves.
What is true now,
may not be true tomorrow.
But what is true now,
Is true now.
Truth lives in the present.
Worry not for what has and will come.
